Wow, so this is it! Today, is 30th August 2019 and I’m publishing my first post. Everything is brand new, everything is shiny – but also quite empty.
So, what can you expect for the near future to come?
I intend to blog on productivity and self-management, two topics that are very dear to me. That will cover three main areas:
Productivity and time management:
The heart of what you should expect when reading a blog on productivity: everything related to become better organised.
Project management:
When you, like me, work in a large corporation, you rarely work alone. And I learned that, to achieve results with peers, you definitely need project management skills.
Self-management:
Adressing the bigger questions in life – on how to grow, how to constantly improve yourself and how to live a good life.
My goal is to help you to become more productive, to feel in a state, where everything is under control, flows smoothly. So I hope you will consider my posts as hands-on guidance which you can easily follow. However, I’ve learned that there are some universal concepts and methods about productivity, project management and self-management which are helpful to know. Thus, it is easy to apply your routines to the tools you have available in a certain situation. More importantly, the latter is key to the choice of the right tools. Depending on the situation you are working in, some tools a better suited than others.
That means, you will find posts on practical hands-on descriptions of tools and apps, like OneNote, Bullet Journal, Trello, Outlook and many many others. Furthermore I will explain the basic concepts like ToDo-lists, archives, calendar and methods like Getting Things Done (GTD), Manage Your Now (MYN) or Scrum. Not to forget to share those little hacks and tweaks that help to master your setup.
I hope that sounds interesting enough to stay tuned. If you are interested in a certain topic that I am currently not addressing, please leave comment and I am happy to cover that.
What’s up next?
I will continue with my current setup of Bullet Journal, iPhone and corporate MS Office environment. As this is the result of roughly 20 years experience I assume that this will be a practical and real-world introduction to the ample field of productivity tools and methods. Next in the backlog is then an overview on the essential parts of every productivity setup. Followed by the first highlight – the Master Your Time productivity navigator. An easy-and-fun-to-use decision tree that will guide you to your best fitting tool suite depending on the situation you are currently in.
Sounds promising? I hope it will be 🙂
Until then, comment, recommend and enjoy what you see, I am happy about any feedback.
